Christmas Light Switch on & Lantern Parade
This is one not to miss! There is lots going on to kick off the Christmas season in the town centre.
The lantern parade will make its way through the town centre and the top 3 lanterns will be judged by the Mayor. Following the parade, the winner of the design a light competition will hit the button to light up the town centre.
Stars from the Panto will be attending along with live music from local bands SnakeByte and Black River Sinners.
There will also be a funfair and market stalls.
The timetable for the event is as follows -
4:30 - 5 pm - Service at St John's Church
5:00 pm - Stage goes live at the Bandstand, Middle Street with The Breeze FM
5:15 pm - Gathering of lanterns for parade outside St John's Church
5:30 pm - Lantern parade sets off from outside St John's Church
6:00 pm - Black River Sinners perform on the stage at the bandstand, Middle Street
6:15 pm approx - Lantern Parade arrives at the Bandstand Stage
6:30 pm - Panto Stars and Father Christmas
6:40 pm - Switch On!
6:50 pm - Winners of lantern parade announced
7 - 7:30 pm - SnakeByte perform on the stage, fun fair, games and market stalls.
8:00 pm - Event closes
