Christmas Light Switch On
It's back! We are delighted that we can bring you the Christmas Light Switch On once again after a year off from the pandemic.
This year Yeovil will be enjoying a smaller ceremony to light up the town centre and kicking off the 'Festival of Light' in Yeovil.
The Lantern Parade will be taking place separately this year, on 17th December, to allow more space in the town centre for people to gather safely.
The Switch On this year will take place on the green outside St John's Church, as the bandstand is being dug up as part of the Yeovil Refresh, it will be nice to return to the green which was historically the place for the Switch On.
The Mayor will be there to press the 'Big Red Button' for us and there will be live music from Tom Clements and his band and fire and light street performances.
As part of the event we shall be turning on some new light art installations as well, more details of these will be released in the coming weeks.
Timetable for the event is as follows:
5:00 pm - Fire Eater Performance
5:30 pm - Live music from Tom Clements and his band
6:00 pm - We Welcome the Mayor to the stage
6:15 pm - Switch On the Lights
6:20 pm - Fire and Light Performance and Live music from Tom Clements and his band
