The Big Yeovil Bat Count
Gather your friends, family and community to find and count bats in Yeovil. Part of Somerset Wildlife Trust’s Great Somerset Wildlife Count, and in partnership with the Somerset Bat Group, the Big Bat Count Yeovil is your chance to get involved in real-time, night-time monitoring of bat species and use the very latest, cutting edge bat detecting technology to collect data about bat activity in our urban environments. The more data we collect about the county’s bats, the better we can conserve the habitats they call home.
BOOKING IS ESSENTIAL as places are limited. To book your place please email Helen.Hawke@Somersetwildlife.org.
What to bring:
- A fully charged mobile phone with the iNaturalist app preloaded
- A fully charged torch
- Suitable clothing and footwear - it will get chilly!
The Big Bat Count Yeovil is planned to take place on Friday 18h August, but in the event of bad weather we have scheduled a back-up date on Saturday 19th August.
