A-Plan launches COVID-19 Community Heroes campaign

Released On 27th Apr 2020

A-Plan Insurance has launched a local initiative to help celebrate the unsung heroes of our communities. From takeaways delivering curries to their local NHS staff, community volunteer groups helping people in isolation, individuals using their 3D printers to make PPE masks and beauty therapists donating their supply of masks and aprons to local hospitals, the list goes on.

20-20 – A-Plan’s bid to recognise community spirit.

The headline news for the past weeks has been troubling, but behind them are individuals selflessly working in our communities. To ensure that their stories are shared and to recognise their efforts, A-Plan are asking people to share their stories and nominate their Coronavirus Community Hero. A-Plan will pick 20 nominees at random who will get a £100 All4One voucher, which can be spent online with the likes of M&S, John Lewis, B&Q, Argos and many more. Plus, those winning nominees will be able to select their local NHS hospital or registered charity of their choice to receive a £200 donation. 20 winners, 20 charitable donations, £6,000 towards recognising the heroes in our communities.

Scott Allen, Yeovil Branch Manager of A-Plan Insurance comments “Our local branches have always been part of their local communities. And during this pandemic, that hasn’t changed. We’ve seen or heard so many positive stories around how people are helping out in their local communities and we wanted to do our bit to help recognise, celebrate and say thank you to those heroes. No matter how big or small or unique the gesture, we want to share these positive stories and show how people across the country are pulling together.”

To nominate your local hero, email coronavirusheroes@aplan.co.uk or share your stories on the A-Plan Insurance Facebook or Twitter accounts. Please make sure you have permission of the nominee to share their photograph.
