Fireworks Display To Go Ahead At Yeovil Showground This Year
Released On 7th Oct 2019
Last year saw the 50th anniversary of the Yeovil Fireworks Display held at the Yeovil Showground and organized by the Lions and Round Table.
The event, which attracted several thousand spectators each year, had grown to become one of the biggest firework displays in Somerset. Sadly, this year the Lions Club and Round Table organisers announced that they would not be running it in 2019, citing the ever increasing workload, of organising the display, on their volunteers. However, the management team at the Yeovil Showground were determined not to lose this much loved event and have engaged a new organsing team to run the Fireworks at Yeovil Showground on Saturday 2nd November.
Tickets are already on sale and the event will include Herbert’s Fun Fair, live music organised by Wizard Events, hot food, a bar and a 17 minute firework display by FireMagic. Alice Edmonds, the Showground Manager, said ‘The Fireworks Display was one of our most popular events at the Showground and as soon as we knew that the Lions Club & Round Table were not able to run it in 2019 we set to work finding a way of ensuring it went ahead. We are very lucky to have a great team of supporters who have all pitched in to help put the event back on the calendar. We are really looking forward to seeing everyone at the Showground on Saturday 2nd November, gates open at 5pm!’.
