Join in the fun at Yeovil Country Park’s hair-raising Halloween Trail

Released On 3rd Oct 2018

It's time to get into the spirit of Halloween at Yeovil Country Park this October half term so dust off your costumes and get your face paints at the ready.

The Countryside Rangers and their team of dedicated volunteers are once again hosting the monstrously popular Halloween Trail on Wednesday 31 October. Join us for a fang-tastic fun day out in the beautifully autumnal setting of 'Ninesprings'.

Pick up a trail leaflet from the frightful 'Friends of Yeovil Country Park' stall opposite Ninesprings Café anytime between 11:00am and 2:00pm; follow the pumpkin markers through the eerie woods. Find the missing letters which will be hidden at several marked pumpkin stops along the way to help craft the witches spell. Are you brave enough to follow the trail all the way to the end to find the witch? Once you find her, be sure to tell her the missing word from her spell so she can use her cauldron to conjure up a prize.

A buggy friendly/little legs short route will be available and clearly signposted. Don't worry you won't miss out on a prize and you will still find all of the letters to help the witch cast her spell.

The Halloween Trail costs £2 per child and under 2 years go free (will receive a smaller prize), it takes around one hour to complete and the last entry will be at 2:00pm. The Friends of Yeovil Country Park will be selling their personalised pencils for a minimum donation of 30p. All proceeds from entries, the sale of pencils and hand knitted toys will be channelled into organising future fun events at Yeovil Country Park.

"The Halloween Trail promises to be a scream! The event organised by the team at Yeovil Country Park attracts a huge number of families and is suitable for all ages. It is no doubt our most popular trail event of the year. We love to see the variety of creepy costumes worn by everyone enjoying a fun day out in the fresh air." said Countryside Ranger, Kristy Davies

Councillor Sylvia Seal, Portfolio Holder for Leisure & Culture at South Somerset District Council added, "The Country Park is a great setting to hold a fantastic family event such as our Halloween Trail and with the Café there to act as a great start and finish point, we look forward to seeing lots of people having fun."

The Ninesprings Café will be open between 8:00am and 6:00pm for parents and children to get out of the chilling air and enjoy a hot drink before or after the trail. Why not treat yourself to a petrifying pumpkin spice latte or a wicked white hot chocolate. Other spooky specials will be available.
