Magical Fairy Tale characters at Yeovil Country Park this May half term
Released On 3rd May 2018
Once upon a time in the most wonderful land of all of Somerset, a truly magical event was being planned by South Somerset District Councils' Countryside Rangers…
The self-led Fairy Tale Trail, a wonderful enchanted experience through Yeovil Country Park, brings visitors up close with some of everyone's favourite fairy tale characters. There are a selection of activity points along the way and letters to discover so you can complete the missing word.
The Fairy Tale Trail is active from 11:00am on Tuesday 29 May to 1:00pm Friday 1 June. To complete the trail, you will need to pick up a trail sheet for £1 from the Ninesprings Café.
Start the trail outside the Café and follow the trail of bread crumb arrows to trace the same steps that Hansel and Gretel have taken through the woods. The trail takes approximately 1 one hour to complete and is suitable for adventurous pushchairs as there are sets of steps on route.
Money raised from the Fairy Tale Trail will be channelled into future events and projects within Yeovil Country Park.
You will need to remember to bring a pencil or pen with you to be able to fill in the missing letters that you find along the way on the trail sheet. If you would like to support the Friends of Yeovil Country Park, pencils are available from the café for a minimum donation of 20p per pencil.
Talking about the event, Countryside Ranger Kristy Davies said "Ninesprings is the perfect setting for the Fairy Tale Trail and all of the hand crafted Fairy Tale characters. It will truly captivate the imaginations of children of all ages".
Councillor Sylvia Seal, Portfolio Holder for Leisure & Culture added, "The Fairy Tale Trail is always a highlight and a popular event. It's always great to see so many children enjoying themselves in the wonderful setting of Yeovil Country Park which was recently awarded a five star Best Park 2017 award".
Pop into Ninesprings Café between the opening hours of 8:00am to 6:00pm to enjoy one of the specials available over the half term holiday (while stocks last). Why not treat yourself to a refreshing lemon smoothie, an indulgent salted caramel frappe, a tasty white chocolate caramel slice or a divine honeycomb tiffin. There is also a wide selection of delicious hot and cold drinks, sandwiches, Paninis, ice-creams and cakes.
