Yeovil Together - Town Centre Cultural Days

Released On 29th Mar 2022

Love Yeovil is working with Community Council for Somerset to support the ethnically diverse communities of Yeovil share their heritage and culture with the people of Yeovil in the run up to the 2022 Yeovil Together event being held later this year.

The Quedam Shopping Centre in Yeovil is helping host four ethnically diverse communities;

  • Yeovil Romanian Association – 7th May
  • Yeovil Oriental Association – 21st May
  • Yeovil Indian Association and Friends – 11th June
  • Polonia and Friends – 25th June

Each community will be given space in The Quedam Shopping Centre to celebrate their unique culture and heritage. There will be a chance to try samples of each culture's cuisine, arts activities and music all of which will be free to the public to attend.

This is a unique opportunity for the community of Yeovil to share a different culture in the town centre to help promote the larger Yeovil Together Event on 3rd July at Yeovil Recreation Ground.

All those who visit and take part in this wonderful celebration of the different cultures found within Yeovil will also get a recipe card to take away which will enable you to try the various flavours of each community at home

Love Yeovil is very proud to be supporting these cultural days in the town centre and the Yeovil Together Event in July.

Jusna Mustafa from Community Council for Somerset said 'It's so exciting to be a part of something so wonderful and vibrant as these events. It's about giving different communities the opportunity to share and celebrate their cultural heritage through the arts and food, with the aim of being a truly inclusive society'.
